OUR WORK
Video can take many forms.
At Pearl Impact Media, the options are endless. We'll work with you to ensure the right vehicle for your mission and message.
The Impact Video
LENGTH: 2-3 minutes
PURPOSE: To showcase what you do and why you do it
WHERE YOU'D SHOW IT: This is what most clients request. It's perfect for the home page (or any page) of your web site. It can fit into any grant presentation or funding pitch. And it can shine as a pinned post on social media.
CASE STUDY: LEKOTEK OF GEORGIA
I've produced several videos for Lekotek over the years.
(I've also been fortunate to serve on their board.)
For this one, we chose a classic "Explainer" concept, showcasing the ways Lekotek serves both children with disabilities and their families.
But it's not just their services. It's also their mindset.
Viewers fully get a sense of Lekotek's belief in the "power of play," which speaks to the lane they've carved over four decades in metro Atlanta.
The Event Video
LENGTH: 2-4 minutes
PURPOSE: To shine light on your mission and message on your largest stage
WHERE YOU'D SHOW IT: Picture a gala or major event. Maybe you're honoring someone and need a video that tells everyone in the room their deeper story. Maybe you're entering your fundraising appeal and want to captivate everyone in the room. Maybe there's a specific message you want to get across for an event-specific audience.
CASE STUDY: FRIENDS OF VAIL FOUNDATION
I first told Vail's story in 2019 as a journalist with WXIA-TV. Five years later, when I announced the launch of Pearl Impact Media, her parents reached out.
They told me they had run my story every year at their annual benefit. Now they were looking for a new one, a video that both honored their daughter and highlighted their foundation.
I produced this video for the Friends of Vail Foundation's 2024 benefit, where it played for hundreds.
The Proof of Performance Video
LENGTH: 2-5 minutes
PURPOSE: To show what you've accomplished to donors, clients, and everyone in between
WHERE YOU'D SHOW IT: It's ideal for online, but it's perhaps best shown at one of your major events, where a captivated audience can feel the power of what you provide. It also makes a winning introduction to any fundraising appeal.
CASE STUDY: INVEST IN OUR FUTURE
This video is a beautiful example of telling an organization's story through the voices of those it serves.
Invest in Our Future was formed to help solar and clean energy nonprofits implement funds from the Inflation Reduction Act. Two years into their run, they sought a video that showcased their monumental impact in such a short time.
I shot interviews and footage in suburban D.C. and the Bay Area. I then folded in video from several of IOF's grantees to convey the full scope of their impact.
The Documentary & Impact Campaign
LENGTH: 15-30 minutes
PURPOSE: To effect change on a grand scale
WHERE YOU'D SHOW IT: Think film festivals, D.C. screenings, and any signature event with the intent of catalyzing change. We'll approach the issue you address in a singular, three-dimensional way.
CASE STUDY: STUDENT/PARENT
This was my last major project as a journalist.
As a national correspondent with Scripps News, I regularly crafted half-hour documentaries on critical subjects:
Motherhood in America. Unpaid caregivers. And, in this case, college students who attend school while raising a child.
I spent time with four parents in four parts of America to produce a multi-layered, dignified portrait of life as a student parent.
Photography Packages
PURPOSE: To capture the snapshots that perfectly convey your mission
WHERE YOU'D SHOW IT: In addition to video, I offer complementary or standalone photo storytelling. We'll capture moments that stand out on your web site, social media, email blasts, and more.

CASE STUDY: RESOURCE RURAL
This organization uses a mix of storytelling - writing, video, and photography - to shine a spotlight on community building in America's rural towns and cities.
I had the privilege of collaborating on several stories in rural Georgia, which may have gone uncovered without Resource Rural's work.
Why hire a journalist? Authentic, powerful storytelling.

MATT PEARL
Founder
Pearl Impact Media
Two decades of storytelling have taught me that the best moments are the realest.
The best stories are the truest.
As a journalist, I won 40 regional Emmy awards and 16 Edward R. Murrow Awards, almost always for stories like the ones I tell now. I'll bring that approach to your organization:
Stories centered on people: Numbers inform, and slogans catch eyes, but people reach hearts.
Journalistic authenticity: No TelePrompters. No staged scenes. We'll give your audience a true window to your work.
Understanding YOU: I'll work to grasp your needs, pains, and goals. We'll craft a project that fully suits your mission.
Let's get started.
